St. Rita of Cascia High School
Role of the President
The President maintains the integrity of the mission and delivers a powerful message about the strengths and appeal of St. Rita High School to an ever-growing audience of parents, alumni, prospective families, students, donors
and community members. The President leads strategic planning efforts to enable the school to grow and move forward while respecting the history, traditions, culture and Augustinian charism. Working with and making operational reports to the Board of Directors, and responsible to the Augustinian Prior Provincial, the President manages external relations including enrollment/admissions, institutional advancement and finance, as well as the academic and faith leadership of
the school.
Priorities for the President include...
♦ Marketing/Communications: Develop clear, compelling and consistent messaging to all constituent groups, both internal and external. Engage with target audiences and influencers to increase awareness of and interest in St. Rita High School.
♦ Enrollment/Admissions: Establish an aggressive recruitment and retention posture that clarifies the competitive advantages of a St. Rita education. Determine optimal strategies for attracting students within and beyond the Catholic school elementary market.
♦ Fundraising/Finance: Address affordability and accessibility, in keeping with the demographics of the St. Rita community. Increase external support for operations and endowment. Raise donor participation levels. Identify strategic investments to protect and enhance the facilities and campus.
♦ Alumni: Build engagement and communication across age groups, careers, interest areas, etc.
♦ Relationship Building: Strengthen bonds among faculty and staff to ensure a unified voice and spirit from all St. Rita representatives. Reconnect with past donors, reach out to prospective families and supporters, and continually develop a commitment to St. Rita’s mission. Value each constituency and involve them in a positive and collaborative manner.
Qualifications of the President
The new President of St. Rita High School must be:
♦ A practicing Catholic, strong in faith and visibly supportive of Catholic social teaching.
♦ Mission focused and committed to the Augustinian charism.
♦ Passionate about Catholic secondary education for young men and the transformative impact it can have.
♦ An effective team leader who can successfully interact with diverse constituencies.
♦ A strong presence throughout the community who compellingly shares the mission and vision in order to attract involvement and investment in St. Rita High School.
♦ A dynamic, charismatic, approachable, collaborative, professional leader able to bring people together and empower them to take action.
♦ Appreciative of the unique, cherished and highly competitive Catholic educational experience on the South Side of Chicago.
Candidates for this position should possess:
♦ Background/expertise to market the school for both enrollment and resources.
♦ Demonstrable experience in management, leadership, communication and relationship building at all levels (board, staff, families, etc.) and the ability to attract and retain talented and dedicated employees.
♦ Bachelor’s degree in related field. An advanced degree, with experience in an educational institution, is preferred.
♦ Understanding of and respect for St. Rita’s history, traditions and location. Candidates within the St. Rita High School community – alumni, past parents, etc. – are particularly encouraged to apply.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, 12-month position. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
